The Renville County Sheriff’s office reported that no one was injured, but three juveniles ages 15 and 16 were arrested at the accident scene in connection with the theft. A fourth was interviewed and released.

The four youths had been in a 1995 Buick LeSabre that had been traveling north on 340th Street. It left the road entered a ditch and struck a utility pole at the intersection with Renville County Road 11, about four miles north of Olivia.

The vehicle sheared off the utility pole at its base, leaving it dangling in the air supported by the electrical wires.

The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and is believed to be totaled.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from a Willmar residence on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
