Kandiyohi Co. auditor's office open Saturday for absentee voting
WILLMAR -- Being gone on Election Day is no excuse for not voting.
Absentee ballots are available and can be cast at the Kandiyohi County Auditor's office in downtown Willmar from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and Friday, and until 5 p.m. on Monday.
All county auditor's offices across the state of Minnesota also will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday to accommodate voters' schedules.
Registered voters can fill out the absentee ballots at the auditor's office or the ballots can be taken home and returned later to the auditor's office.
Individuals can hand-deliver their own ballots by 5 p.m. Monday. Forms must be filled out for an individual to hand-deliver another person's absentee ballot.
The county provides stamps with each absentee ballot so that they can be returned by mail.
Ballots must be received in the mail by Tuesday in order to be counted.
So far, about 1,200 absentee ballots have been issued in Kandiyohi County.
