The Kandiyohi County Commissioners certified a net levy today of $25,939,905.

The 2010 levy is an increase of 1.76 from 2009, but most of it - 1.37 percent - is to make up for the unallotment of state funds.

About three-tenths of one percent of the levy is because of increased spending, said County Administrator Larry Kleindl.

The Commissioners praised Kleindl for starting the challenging budgeting process early and for involving staff to find cost-cutting measures.
