Kandiyohi County Board meets Tuesday
WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will discuss options for restructuring county departments when the board meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday for the regular meeting at the Health and Human Services Building.
The potential changes in how different departments operate with each other could be part of a plan to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
Other items on the agenda include bid letting for bituminous surfacing projects, the Spicer water tower rehabilitation project, reappointment of the public works director and a federal boating supplemental grant.
Jay Baker, director of the county's household hazardous waste program, will provide an update on Earth Week and Veterans Service Officer Trisha Appeldorn will discuss a trip to Washington, D.C., with area World War II veterans.
The board is also expected to take action on an earlier request for matching funds from the Kandiyohi County Lake Association for a program to check boats for invasive species, like zebra mussels.
Prior to the board meeting, the commissioners will meet as the Family Services Committee at 9 a.m. Items on that agenda include a proclamation for Foster Care Month and updates from the annual report.
The commissioners meet on the second floor of the Health and Human Services building, located at 2200 23rd St. N.E., Willmar.
