Kandiyohi County Board to recognize sheriff's reserve unit for 50 years of service

WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will pay tribute Tuesday to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Reserve Unit, which is celebrating 50 years of service.

The recognition will take place during the County Board meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. at the Health and Human Services Building, 2200 23rd St. N.E. in Willmar.

Other items on the agenda include discussion on an update to the pawn shop ordinance, an amendment to the natural resources block grant amendment, action on a wetland replacement plan, a request for location option abatement and credit, a nuisance abatement on tax forfeited land and action on a veterans' service transportation policy and procedures plan.

The commissioners will also take action on an application to the Statewide Health Improvement Program.

Prior to the regular board meeting, the commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. as the Family Services Committee, where the board will review and approve a state mental health plan.

The commissioners will meet at 1:30 p.m. with the county park managers to discuss fees, policies and maintenance projects for 2012.
