Volunteers are gathering for the 16th annual Kandiyohi County Relay for Life this evening at Willmar Junior High. The goal is to raise $160,000 for the American Cancer Society for cancer research, education and services.
The opening ceremony is at 6 p.m. The lighting of the luminaries and the survivor walk will take place during the lighting ceremony at 8:15 p.m. The event ends at 6 a.m. Saturday with the closing ceremony.
Activities for the public start at 5 p.m. with music and a silent auction. A turkey sandwich supper will be served from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Throughout the night, participating teams will be serving pizza, selling drinks and refreshments and offering activities ranging from mini-golf and face painting to a dunk tank.
