BENSON -- Karney Arthur Simonson, 95, of Benson died Sunday at Golden Living Center in Benson.
The service will be 10 a.m. today at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Benson. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church. Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson is handling arrangements.
He was born July 22, 1913, in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, to Sivert and Lena (Anderson) Simonson. He attended District 54 School through the eighth grade.
He married Inez Loen on April 28, 1934. He farmed until retiring in 1979. They moved to Benson. During retirement, he mowed lawns, blew snow and helped on the family farm.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and, at the time of his death, a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. He served on the District 54 School Board.
He is survived by his children: LuVerne (and Beatrice) Simonson of Benson, LaVonne (and James) Nesheim of Minneapolis, and Ronald Simonson of Benson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: Sylvia O'Malley of Benson and Reuben (and Ruby) Simonson of Benson.
He was proceeded in death by his wife in 1989, two brothers and two sisters.
