BIRD ISLAND -- Kathleen Hartmann, 86, of Bird Island died Thursday at her home.
The service will be at 1:15 Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Bird Island. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Bird Island First Responders.
She was born May 21, 1922, in Bird Island to Albert and Catherine (Weis) Brunner. She graduated from St. Mary's High School and then worked at the Renville County Court House for several years.
She married Ray Hartmann on May 10, 1947, and they lived Bird Island. She worked at the Drug Store for 25 years as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the CCW and the Bird Island Lioness. After she lost her eyesight 15 years ago, she began weaving placemats on a loom Ray made for her.
She is survived by two children: Terry (and Virginia) Hartmann of Forest Lake and Amy (and David) Prickett of Rush City; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one brother: Frank (and Virginia) Brunner of Minnetonka.
Katie was preceded in death by her husband in 2007 and two sisters.
