Kathryn D. Anderson Aug. 16, 1924 - March 15, 2009

FERGUS FALLS -- Kathryn Dorothy Anderson, 84, of Fergus Falls died Sunday at Diamond Willow Assisted Living Facility in Alexandria.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Burial will be in First Lutheran North Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, Lakeland Hospice in Fergus Falls and the Douglas County Public Health Hospice in Alexandria.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Wegdahl to Nels and Alvina (Remmen) Sletten. She grew and graduated from Central High School in Montevideo in 1942.

She married Merril L. Anderson on Oct. 26, 1952, in Montevideo. She worked for Kief and Kief Attorneys from 1942 until 1952. She worked many years at Clarkfield Lutheran Church as the secretary. She was then employed at Rufer Law Office from 1969 to 1975, and the State of Minnesota from 1975 to 1987, when she retired. She was a member of VFW Post 612 Auxiliary.

They spent 15 winters in Mesa, Ariz., after their retirement.

She is survived by her children: Marilyn (and Steve) Boushley of Alexandria, Marti (and Doug) Nieland of New London, Richard Anderson (and fiancee Sue) of Holcombe, Wis., Karen (and Scott) Collins of Bismarck, N.D., and Julie (and Drew) Rousu of Lino Lakes; 11 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006 and one brother.
