Kathryn Doherty Sept.25, 1919 - Jan. 2, 2009

BENSON -- Kathryn "Kit" Cecelia Doherty, 89, of Benson died Friday at Golden Living Center in Benson.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Clontarf. Burial will be in St. Malachy Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 5 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Clontarf to John and Catherine (Nugent) Molony. She was raised in Clontarf and graduated from Benson High School in 1937.

She married Joseph Doherty on Sept. 27, 1938. She worked for several years for Baumgarten Produce and was Clontarf's postmaster for a few years. She also helped her husband at the Clontarf Liquor Store.

She is survived by her son: Tom (and Jackie) Doherty of Idaho; one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.
