Keith N. 'Keeter' Skalbeck July 18, 1943 - March 1, 2009
SACRED HEART -- Keith "Keeter" Neil Skalbeck, 65, of Sacred Heart, died Sunday at Rice Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Sacred Heart.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements with Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Sacred Heart.
He was born July 18, 1943, on the family farm in Hawk Creek Township, Renville County, to Kenneth and Alma (Lecy) Skalbeck. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1962.
He farmed for a few years and then went to work for Hagen Farms and worked there until going to work for Christianson Farms, retiring in 2008. He cared for his mother until she moved to Crossroads in Renville, was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a former member of the Sacred Heart Jaycee's.
He is survived by his mother; his siblings: Karen (and Gordon) Healey of Glencoe, Susan (and Duane) Holien of Granite Falls and Jerry Skalbeck of Mason City, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.
