Kerkhoven woman hurt in car-semi crash

PENNOCK -- The Minnesota State Patrol said Darlene A. Estwick, 64, of Kerkhoven was injured when her car and a semi collided at approximately 9:46 a.m. Friday morning on U.S. Highway 12 at Kandiyohi County Road 7, about two miles west of Pennock.

Estwick was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar by Kerkhoven Ambulance. A hospital spokeswoman said she was treated and released.

The State Patrol said the semi, driven by Abelardo Garza, 47, of Laredo, Texas, was northbound on County Road 7. The truck had stopped for the stop sign and then pulled out in front of the Buick driven by Estwick. Garza was not reported injured.
