“We intend to hold a press conference regarding a settlement being reached amongst the parties,” Clayton Halunen wrote in a text to the Pioneer Press.
Halunen in an earlier text has indicated the announcement would be Monday.
“We will have a statement Monday about a settlement,” Halunen first wrote.
Kluwe accused the Vikings in a first-person article on Deadspin.com in January of releasing him in May 2013 because of his outspoken views on same-sex marriage and special teams coordinator Mike Priefer of making homophobic remarks during the 2012 season.
Halunen said earlier this month a possible lawsuit would be put on hold to engage in further settlement talks with the Vikings. The sides met on Aug. 6 and on Thursday.
“Conversations are ongoing and nothing has been finalized,” Vikings executive vice president of legal affairs Kevin Warren said Friday.
Priefer was given a three-game suspension to start the 2014 NFL season because of one comment.
