Career: Retired. Formerly worked in farm machinery sales and as an insurance and investment sales representative; former program manager of jobs program.

Civic experience: Six years on Marshall library board of directors and current president of the library foundation; was instrumental in building the city's new library; active in the Marshall Jaycees for many years.
