APPLETON --Leone Grace Johnson, 92, of Appleton, died Friday at the Appleton Nursing Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1916, in rural Watson to Arthur and Inga (Canton) Norby. She attended rural school in Watson through the eighth grade.
She married Carl I. Johnson on Feb. 20, 1942. She worked as a home maker and as a child care provider for several years for many families in the area.
She was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton where she was active with the ladies aid, circles, and the prayer group.
She is survived by five children: Roger (and Laurie) Johnson of Spicer, Gary Johnson and Lance Olson of Edina, Eugene Johnson of Richfield, Marlys Melander of Elko, and Connie (and Dale) Johnson of Milan; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Wallace (and Joyce) Norby of Bellingham and Dale (and Karen) Norby of Pt. Pleasant, N.J, Lorraine Fundingsland of New London and Mary Lou Beyer of Benson.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 1999, an infant twin sister; three brothers and a sister.
