Lac qui Parle Co., Minn., Sheriff investigating Nassau business, residential burglaries

MADISON — The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Grant County, S.D. Sheriff’s Office to investigate several business and residential burglaries in the small town of Nassau.

According to a news release from Sheriff Rick Halvorson, a burglary was reported around 7:15 a.m. Monday at the Nassau Farmers Elevator. Damage was done to the building and access was gained at some point over the weekend. Later that day, a burglary at Northern Plains Tiling Company in Madison was reported. No damage was done in that case, but items were stolen.

A residential burglary was reported around 4 p.m. Monday at a rural Nassau residence. The home was damaged and items were stolen.

No arrests have been made in the case. The Minnesota law agency is working with the South Dakota agency because there are also burglary reports across the state line in South Dakota.
