Lady Warriors fall in opener

WORTHINGTON - With half of their team playing in the Division III national volleyball tournament in Rochester, the Ridgewater Lady Warriors women's basketball team bravely succumbed to Dakota State JV 60-50 in their season opener.

Jamie Munson, a 5-9 sophomore wing, pumped in 21 points and Jenny Cuningham, a 5-5 guard, added 13 points for Ridgewater.

"Munson is our only low post available and she's only 5-9," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl. "We played well for an opener but it came down to boxing out and we didn't do a very good of that."

Ridgewater made 10-of-13 free throws, while Dakota State JV cashed only 7-of-17.

Tricia Voldt led Dakota State with 17 points. Heidi Walkling added 12 points.
