WAHPETON, N.D. -- Ridgewater found some offense in the second half, but it was too late for the Lady Warriors to catch up to North Dakota State College of Science as the Lady Wildcats posted a 63-42 win Tuesday evening in a non-division women's basketball game.

"It could have been a lot worse with shooting like that," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl. "Free throws kept us in it."

The Lady Warriors (1-2) made 11 free throws in the first half, but just one field goal in 16 attempts (6 percent) in the first 20 minutes of action as they fell behind 25-13 at halftime.

"We're still learning what we can do and who can do what," said Ogdahl.

Tara Thielke netted a team-high 12 points for Ridgewater while Kari Caspers pulled down seven rebounds. The Lady Warriors finished 13-of-14 from the free-throw line and 13-for-49 from the field.

Hannah Wenaas of Montevideo had eight points and Megan Groen of Renville County West added seven more to help NDSCS shoot 50 percent from the field.
