Lady Warriors unabl to repel late Hibbing rally

HIBBING -- The Ridgewater Lady Warriors lost their touch at the free-throw line when they needed it most and fell to Hibbing 68-65 in an MCAC cross-division women's basketball game Saturday.

The Lady Warriors (2-5) drained 18 of their first 21 free throws (86 percent) but were 0-for-4 the last two minutes.

The Lady Warriors appeared to get a stop at 65-all with 30 seconds left when center Kari Caspers had control of a defensive rebound. But a Cardinal stripped the ball and scored for a 67-65 lead.

Tara Thielke supplied 19 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and six steals for the Lady Warriors. Caspers finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Danielle Goeman added nine points, nine rebounds and six assists.
