Lake Koronis added to no-wake list in Stearns County
PAYNESVILLE — Lake Koronis has been added to the no wake advisory issued by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, because of high water on the Paynesville area lake.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, boaters are asked to exercise restraint, good judgment and common sense on area lakes. Signs indicating no wake zones are being placed on lakes.
The unusually high water levels, caused by excessive rains, are especially high on the Chain of Lakes and Sauk River area around Cold Spring and Richmond as well as Two Rivers Lake in the St. Anna area, according to a news release.
Also in the no wake advisory are Rice Lake in Eden Lake and Paynesville townships and Big Lake in Munson Township.
Boat operators should reduce their speed to create no wake or waves from their boat. Water patrol officers will be out on area lakes over the weekend, weather permitting, reminding boaters to follow these recommendations.
The Sheriff’s Office thanks all boaters for their cooperation in this matter. Other lakes may be added to the no wake list as needed.
