Lane closures begin today on Minnesota Highway 24 in Meeker County

WILLMAR, Minn. - Motorists traveling today on Highway 24 in Meeker County will encounter lane closures on a bridge located 5.5 miles west of Highway 15 as crews repair bridge railings.

Flaggers will direct traffic. Work is expected to be completed in three days.

During construction and road maintenance work, The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges drivers to:

• Stay alert, expect the unexpected. Be patient.

• Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.

• Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

• Don't use cell phones while driving.

• Remember text messaging while driving is illegal.

• Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
