Laurice T. Koester June 7, 1923 - Dec. 25, 2008
LAKE LILLIAN -- Laurice T. Koester, 85, of Lake Lillian died Thursday at Central Minnesota Senior Care in Lake Lillian.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at United Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian. Burial will be in Tromso Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by K-M Funeral Home in Lake Lillian.
He was born June 7, 1923, in Bandon Township, rural Fairfax, to Leonard and Anna Koester. In 1928 the family moved to a farm near Lake Lillian. He graduated from Atwater High School in 1941. After the death of his father in 1940, he farmed for seven years and cared for the surviving family. Then he served two years in the U.S. Army. Following his service, he worked on farms, hauled gravel, was employed by Central States Construction for 23 years and worked at the Renville beet plant. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, now United Lutheran, and he served as a church council member and head usher.
He is survived by his siblings: Roland Koester of St. Paul, Virgil (and Betty) Koester of Green Bay, Wis., Harold Koester of Sacramento, Calif., Lorraine (and Gayland) Halter of Brooklyn Center and Lila Koester of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
