MONTEVIDEO -- LaVon Alice "Toots" Anderson, 89, of Montevideo, died Thursday at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

She was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Montevideo to Carl and Andrea (Ingvaldson) Pearson. She attended Montevideo Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1937.

On April 24, 1948, she married Orrie Anderson in Montevideo. She worked for a few years as a waitress and as a sales clerk. She was a department head at Pamida for 16 years before retiring in 1984.

She was a lifelong member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and had been active in the altar guild.

She is survived by a brother: Charles Pearson of Montevideo; one sister: Evelyn Gilsrud of Montevideo; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 27, 1973, two sisters and three brothers.
