Law enforcement officers are likely searching for Andrew Joseph Dikken, 28, of Granite Falls, a named person of interest in a homicide early Monday morning in Granite Falls.

Dikken’s 1996 brown GMC Sierra pickup with a topper and Minnesota license plate number 032-GGL was located Wednesday morning off of Redwood County Road 7, about five miles north of Belview.

Dikken may be armed and dangerous and officials say that he should not be approached. He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Dikken’s location is asked to contact the Granite Falls Police Department, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, or call 911. The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is also assisting in the investigation.

Law enforcement officers are searching multiple locations along Renville County Road 9 and Redwood County Road 7 and along the Minnesota River. Law enforcement agencies have deployed searchers on all-terrain vehicles and a helicopter in the search of various areas along the river.

Authorities are investigating the Monday morning shooting death of Kara Ann Monson, 26, of Granite Falls and the shooting of a 28-year-old Granite Falls man at a home in the 1100 block of Prentice Street in Granite Falls. The wounded man is being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center.

A Granite Falls funeral home announced Monson’s death Tuesday afternoon, and Monson is listed in county property tax records as the owner of the Prentice Street home where Granite Falls police officers responded to a 911 call at 3:30 a.m. Monday.

The state Department of Public Safety said in a news release Monday that a woman — now identified as Monson — was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds, and a 28-year-old man was critically injured. He was transported first to Granite Falls Hospital and then later by air to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
