According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy saw the bull running loose in the area of Seventh Street and Maple Lane, along the west side of Grove City, just after 7 p.m.

The owner of the bull, Lester Johnson, 83, of Grove City, told deputies that the 1,200 pound bull got loose from his farm on County Road 11 and that his sons were attempting to round up the animal.

The deputies and the State Patrol assisted the Johnsons in getting the bull out of town and contained into an area just west of the city limits.

Two veterinarians from South 71 Vet Clinic, of Willmar, used a tranquilizer gun to tranquilize the bull and get it loaded into a cattle trailer for the owner.
