Law still seeking Wrobleski, may still drive red pickup
OLIVIA -- The Renville County Sheriff's Office continues to aggressively pursue 37-year-old Matthew James Wrobleski, who is wanted on outstanding arrest warrants and is a suspect in numerous motor vehicle thefts in the area over the past week.
According to an updated crime alert issued at 10:30 p.m. Thursday by Sheriff Scott Hable, a stolen Yamaha ATV that had been taken in Cosmos was recovered Thursday southeast of Cosmos in Renville County.
Law enforcement has had no contact with Wrobleski since Tuesday, when two four-wheelers, a red 2009 Ford, four-door pick-up (Minnesota license 062-AMV), and a 30-foot "Cougar" camper trailer were stolen from in and around Cosmos. It is believed that Wrobleski may still be using that pick-up as his means of transportation.
A task-oriented group of investigators from law enforcement agencies in Renville, McLeod, Meeker and Kandiyohi counties has been assembled to locate and apprehend Wrobleski. Although several leads have been developed and followed, investigators have no current information that suggests that Wrobleski is in any specific area or county.
"We really value the information that we receive from the public," commented Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable. "Officers in the region are working hard to locate and apprehend this subject, but the eyes and ears of our residents is by far our most powerful resource. I urge anyone who sees or has information about his whereabouts to report it to their Sheriff's Office immediately."
