Lawyer: 15-yr sentence for Wisconsin sex scam 'fair'
WAUKESHA, Wis. - The lawyer for a Wisconsin teen convicted of using a Facebook scam to blackmail classmates into sex says the 15-year sentence is fair.
Craig Kuhary represented 19-year-old Anthony Stancl of New Berlin. The teen pleaded no contest to two felony charges of sexual assault.
Investigators say Stancl posed as a girl on Facebook and tricked more than 30 male classmates into sending him naked photos of themselves. He then used the photos to blackmail seven males between the ages of 15 and 18 for sex.
Kuhary says he can finally discuss the case because sentencing is over. He says Stancl was disappointed but he and Stancl's family agree 15 years was reasonable.
He says Stancl will get out of prison at age 34, which gives him time to salvage his life.
