2012 New London Fine Art Festival: Friday and Saturday, Holm Park, New London. A juried fine art and craft festival showcasing approximately 25 artists and food vendors from southwestern Minnesota. Holm Park is adjacent to New London's picturesque Mill Pond and within walking distance to downtown. U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 Historic Sites Bus Trip: Saturday. Join the Kandiyohi County Historical Society for a tour of the Historic Sites of the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 in Kandiyohi County. Tour stops include the Vikor Lutheran Church, the Guri Endreson State Monument, Monson Lake State Park, Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association's Old Log Church, Monongalia Historical Society, and West Lake State Monument. Tour will start in Willmar at the Kandiyohi County Historical Society and will take place at various sites throughout the Northern part of Kandiyohi County. www.kandimuseum.com

Old Log Church Celebration: Anniversary Weekend Celebration for Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association's completion of the Old Log Church. www.nllha.org

Saturday, 1:15 pm, Kandiyohi Historical Society Bus Tour will stop at the Norway Lake Log Church site and will tour the Log Church and Interpretive Center. Discussions and comments will be provided by Association representatives. Join a Vesper Services at the Log Church at 7:15 pm.

Sunday, Church Services at 10:30 (portions in Norwegian) Rev. Paul Lundborg officiating, followed by Noon dinner at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake. An afternoon program at the Log Church and a locally developed Reader's Theatre will describe some of the events occurring at the Knutson Cabin (adjacent to the Church) and the Isle of Refuge (in Norway Lake) during the beginning of the Dakota Wars.

Sibley State Park Naturalist Legacy Programs: Saturday, beautiful, fun and interactive series of exhibits were funded with Legacy Funds. www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/sibley

Family Fun Bike Ride: Sunday, Glacial Lakes Trail primarily in Spicer, travels along the Glacial Lakes Trail and around scenic Green Lake. The bike trail will follow a route to feature the "Poles Gone Wild" legacy funded project in Spicer. A community picnic following the bike ride.
