U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 Historic Sites Bus Trip: Saturday. Join the Kandiyohi County Historical Society for a tour of the Historic Sites of the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 in Kandiyohi County. Tour stops include the Vikor Lutheran Church, the Guri Endreson State Monument, Monson Lake State Park, Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association's Old Log Church, Monongalia Historical Society, and West Lake State Monument. Tour will start in Willmar at the Kandiyohi County Historical Society and will take place at various sites throughout the Northern part of Kandiyohi County. www.kandimuseum.com

Sunday, Church Services at 10:30 (portions in Norwegian) Rev. Paul Lundborg officiating, followed by Noon dinner at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake. An afternoon program at the Log Church and a locally developed Reader's Theatre will describe some of the events occurring at the Knutson Cabin (adjacent to the Church) and the Isle of Refuge (in Norway Lake) during the beginning of the Dakota Wars.

Family Fun Bike Ride: Sunday, Glacial Lakes Trail primarily in Spicer, travels along the Glacial Lakes Trail and around scenic Green Lake. The bike trail will follow a route to feature the "Poles Gone Wild" legacy funded project in Spicer. A community picnic following the bike ride.
