REDWOOD FALLS -- Dylan Gass twirled a two-hit shutout as BOLD blanked Redwood Falls 6-0 in American Legion baseball action Thursday.

Gass tamed Redwood Falls with 11 strikeouts, while allowing just one walk.

BOLD (6-7) got on the board first with an unearned run in the second inning. The Mudhens piled up five more runs in the fourth with RBI hits by Tyler Hebrink, Gass, Derek Smith and Taylor Wertish.

The Mudhen offense collected 10 hits, led by Hebrink whoe went 2-for-5 with two doubles, and Wertish, who was 2-for-3. Gass had two RBI overall and Sam Steffel stole two bases.

Brandon Lecher and Brett Amberg each had a single for Redwood Falls.

Cottonwood 3, Granite Falls 2

Tyler Peterson faced some touchy moments in the seventh inning but hung on to beat Granite Falls (6-5) and finish with a four-hitter.

A single, walk, wild pitch and sacrifice fly, off the bat of Jordan Hagert, produced a run and cut the Cottonwood lead to 3-2, but Peterson was able to escape further damage.

Cottonwood went up 3-1 in the fifth with two runs. Two walks off Granite starter Dylan Lindstrom were followed by Peterson's RBI double and a wild pitch that allowed in another run.

Cottonwood managed just four hits, also, against Lindstrom and reliever Derek Dyrdahl. He threw the final 2Zc innings.

Tritown 6, Kerkhoven 2

Blake Schmidt, the Black Sox third baseman, went 3-for-4 to lead the Tritown victory. He tripled home a run in the second and singled in another in the fifth.

Jordan Tanner used the run support to polish off Kerkhoven on six hits. He walked one and struck out eight.

Kyle Johnson also had a multiple-hit game and Dylan Rossell doubled in a run as the Black Sox clubbed 11 hits.

Kerkhoven (7-3) trailed by six when Jonah Johnson doubled in two runs in the bottom of the fifth. He and Justin Johnson led the team with two hits each.

Bryan Schlagel took the loss, pitching the first five innings and giving up six runs on nine hits. Jonah Johnson pitched the last two innings, giving up just two hits and striking out one.
