Legion Baseball: Litchfield bats strike hard against BOLD

BIRD ISLAND -- Litchfield used nine hits and seven BOLD errors to rout the home team 12-2 Thursday in Legion baseball.

Tyler Kielty earned the win with a six-inning complete game. He scattered six hits for one earned run and struck out four BOLD hitters. He also slapped two singles.

Nate Adams gave the Litchfield offense a boost in the third inning when he smashed a three-run homer. Litchfield's remaining six hits were scattered amongst the lineup.

Dylan Gass slapped two hits for BOLD and stole a base. Shawn Dollerschell drove in two runs on a single and pitched the last two-thirds of an inning.

Kerkhoven 8, EV-Watkins 3

Justin Johnson went 4-for-5 and pitched all seven innings to give Kerkhoven a season-opening win. He gave up three runs on six hits, struck out four and walked one.

Kerkhoven scored three runs in the first without a hit. Eden Valley-Watkins walked two batters and hit another with the bases loaded.

Aaron Zimmer chipped in two insurance runs with a single in the sixth.

Brooks Maurer, Travis Frederiksen and Kyle Johnson each had two hits for Tritown (1-0). They combined for five RBI and four runs scored.

Jordan Tanner cracked a double, drove in three runs and crossed the plate three times as well.

Tanner earned the win after scattering five NLS hits over four innings and allowing two runs.

Jack Hartley hit a double for NLS and Andy Clancy drove in one of two runs.

Dusty Sauter went the distance on the mound and had two hits to lead Morris (1-1). He lead off the first inning with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly.

On the hill, he scattered nine hits and allowed one run. He struck out 10 without issuing a walk.

Tanner Berning singled in a run with the bases loaded in third.

Cameron Simmonds led Benson with two hits.

Tronn Tosel and Ryan Hoium both drove in two runs for Madison. Tosel's hit was a double.

Ryan Streich pitched two innings of shutout relief. He surrendered two hits and struck out one.
