GRANITE FALLS — Tyler Daugherty tossed a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts and Sam Ohden and Neil Brouwer each had a pair of hits to help Prinsburg blank Granite Falls 3-0 in a Legion baseball game Thursday.

Ohden singled in a run in the first inning and Brouwer capped the scoring with an RBI single of his own in the fourth. Prinsburg also got hits from Grant Hoekstra, T.J. Stoel and Lucas Van Eps.

Daugherty also didn’t issue a walk as he gave up just two singles to Chris Jensen and Reed Raddatz in picking up the victory.

Dylan Johnson fanned five and gave up five hits, four walks and three runs in six innings of work to get tagged with the loss. Blake Lindstrom pitched a scoreless seventh for Granite Falls.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop sent eight guys to the plate in the sixth inning to manufacture three runs behind three hits and a Kerkhoven error to pull ahead 6-5.

Kerkhoven was limited to just four hits — all singles — while GFW produced 10 hits. Jordan Engler in the second and Sam Johnson in the fifth singled in a run for Kerkhoven (1-1).

Brendan Hjelle and Rylan Hatlestad also singled for Kerkhoven.

With two outs in the bottom half of the seventh inning, Mitch Treml, Dylan Abraham and Tyler Donner drew back-to-back-to-back walks to keep the game alive for Sacred Heart/MACCRAY. Ryan Fransen then singled up the middle past a diving second baseman to drive in Treml and Abraham to give the Scarlets (2-1) the come-from-behind win.

Fransen also picked up the victory on the mound after striking out 12 and holding Madison to just three hits, a double from Jalen Baldwin and singles from Garrett Olson and Dylan Lillejosh. Olson’s single came with two outs in the first and knocked in Colby Siegert.

Fransen had two strikeouts in five of the seven innings and issued three walks.
