Leland R. Schulte

GRANITE FALLS -- Leland Robert Schulte, 82, of Granite Falls, died Thursday at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital.
The service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Assembly of God Church in Granite Falls. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and for one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
He was born Sept. 10, 1926, in Granite Falls to August and Emma (Spangenberg) Schulte. He graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1944. He served in the Army during World War II until 1945. He attended Dunwoody Institute in the Twin Cities.
He married Irma Johnson on June 14, 1953, in Granite Falls. They lived in Montevideo until 1961 and then moved to Granite Falls. He was a machinist for Rodgers Hydraulics for 31½ years, retiring in 1992.
He was active in church activities, including Bible study.
He is survived by his wife; children: Gary (and Jan) Schulte of Forest Lake, Ron (and Patrice) Schulte of Hazel Run, Cindy (and Dave) Harris of Cottonwood, Richard (and Kelly) Schulte of Granite Falls, Cheryl (and Randy) Boomgaarden of Marshall, Doug (and Patty) Schulte of Hazel Run, Diane (and Bob) Schutten of Joliet, Ill., and Wayne (and Amy) Schulte of Montevideo; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
