Leo Russell Sebring was born on Saturday, September 24, 1932 in Granite Falls, Minnesota. He was the son of Donald and Alice (Bijold) Sebring. Leo was baptized on April 16, 1933 and was later confirmed in his faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. He received his education through the Granite Falls Public School system, graduating in 1950.

On September 7, 1957, Leo was united in marriage to Arlene Sell at the First Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three daughters, Cynthia, Catherine and Susan. Leo and Arlene resided in Granite Falls until their move to Glencoe in 2012. They shared 55 years of marriage.

After graduation, Leo continued to work with the family farming operation and then transitioned into the bottling and home delivery of dairy products in Granite Falls and surrounding areas. Leo and Arlene's dairy business also included catering of homemade ice cream, punch, and coffee for various area events. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served on various committees, along with being a member of Toastmasters and serving on the Granite Falls Utilities Commission. Having a beautiful baritone voice, he sang at many weddings and funerals for family and friends. After retiring, Leo enjoyed driving school bus for the Granite Falls School District.

Leo loved camping in his motor home and traveling to some of the most beautiful state and national parks in the country, especially Alaska. There wasn't a nature show on PBS that he didn't like, and he was always in pursuit of grilling the perfect pork chop.

Cherishing his memory are his wife Arlene of Glencoe, daughters Cynthia (Stan) Wibben of Glendale, Arizona, Catherine (Tom) Hoernemann of Andover, Minnesota and Susan (Chad) Evans of Aberdeen, South Dakota; grandchildren: Daniel (Angela) Wibben, Derek Wibben, Jeff Hoernemann, Jared Hoernemann, Paige Evans and Sydney Evans; his brother Don (Vi) Sebring, sister Annette (Jim) McConnell, mother-in-law Esther Sell, sisters-in-law Jackie (Werner) Knuth, Jean McGuire, Sharon (Charlie) Czycalla and Ginette Schwarze and brother-in-law Ronald (Marilyn) Sell.

In addition to his parents Donald and Alice Sebring, Leo is preceded in death by his brother Jerry Sebring, grandson Brent Wibben, nephew Philip Sebring, sister-in-law Thaisia Sebring, brothers-in-law Rodney Schwarze and Dennis McGuire and his father-in-law Melvin Sell.
