MONTEVIDEO -- Leona Katherina Schutz Winslow, 86, of Montevideo, died Thursday at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born March 5, 1922, in Hettinger, N.D., to Christ and Mathilda Kirschenmann. She was raised and educated in the area.
She married Albert Schutz on April 5, 1942, in Eureka, S.D. The family moved to Montevideo. She provided child day care in her home and later worked in electronic assembly and as a seamstress. She was a member of the garden club, was a Cub Scout den mother and a member in the ladies circle of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
She later married Frances Winslow. They lived west of Montevideo. She moved to Luther Haven Nursing Home in 2001
She is survived by her children: John (and Barbara) Schutz of Winona, Steven (and Lily) Schutz of Mankato, Donald (and Carol) Schutz of Montevideo, Michael (and Nadine) Schutz of Woodbury and James (and Ann Marie) Schutz of Fargo, N.D.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one sister: Mae Reich of Fergus Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Albert in 1981 and Francis in 1985; one sister; and one brother.
