Leslie O. Hoiseth June 18, 1929 - Jan. 8, 2014

HAWICK - Leslie O. Hoiseth, 84 of Hawick, died Wednesday evening, January 8, 2014 at his home near Hawick. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Hawick Methodist Church where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are with the Harvey Anderson and Johnson Funeral Home in New London. www.hafh.org

Leslie Owen Hoiseth was born on June 18, 1929 in Georgeville, the son of Mathias and Alma (Ellingson) Hoiseth. He was baptized and confirmed at Crow River Lutheran Church. He attended grade school in Georgeville and Belgrade High School, graduating in 1947. After his schooling he entered the United States Navy where he served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 24, 1953 and made his home in Richfield where he worked as a printer. On December 13, 2013, Leslie was united in marriage to his longtime girlfriend and former high school sweetheart, Marguerite Hufford. They made their home near Hawick. Leslie enjoyed woodworking, traveling, cars, reading, history and working in his garage.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; children, Julie Larson (friend, Scott) of Bloomington, Beth (Clark) Johnson of Hawick and Paul Hufford of Willmar; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and brothers, Melborne Hoiseth (friend, Marilyn) and Donald (Ruth) Hoiseth. He was preceded in death by his parents.
