For those of you who don't want to read yet another letter on stadium issues, you may skip this one. For the rest of you, read on.
It sounds like the Vikings' stadium has hit some roadblocks, including plans to build in Arden Hills. Since they are the Minnesota Vikings, they can play anywhere in the state and still retain their name. Why not build the stadium here, in the Willmar area?
I know the perfect location for it: west on Highway 40, north of the new wastewater treatment plant. Of course that will also require additional development, such as hotels and restaurants. That will also require expanding the airport. Fortunately, they are already in a location where they can do that.
Highway 40 will also have to be expanded to accommodate heavier volumes of traffic on game days. This could even mean the founding of a new city: West Willmar!
Now all we have to do is find a business willing to lend its name to the new stadium.
