Letter: A chance to say yes again
Thank you, thank you to Willmar school citizens, both past and present, for acknowledging school needs, for supporting school bond issues, for recognizing the basic importance of assisting your children, your neighbors' children, and your grandchildren in receiving the best possible education here in Willmar. My husband Dave and I thank you from our hearts that you helped us provide a first-rate public education for our four children. They are grown now (and I must report to you that they are doing fine and are, we think, contributing members of their school communities). Thanks for helping. Because of you and people like you, our children enjoyed:
Good class sizes in the low and mid 20s, wonderful teachers, clean schools and classrooms, reliable bus service, warm and nourishing noon meals, Advanced Placement classes, opportunities for classes and activities and all kinds of books.
Thanks for voting yes before.
So now we look in the school bond literature and see that our school taxes (based on our present house/property value and listed about mid-page) will increase less than $1.50 a day. I think, "Hmm, this is a mighty good bargain!"
Thank you for giving me a chance to help your children, your grandchildren or your neighbors' grandchildren. I'm happy to say yes, yes, now.
