Letter: City site should tout new ballpark
It is appalling that the city of Willmar Web site is absent of information regarding its new baseball park.
I grew up in Willmar during a period when the entire state of Minnesota looked upon the city as a diamond hotbed. Now, should amateur baseball look to your city as a possible site for in-season or post season tournaments, it would make sense to look elsewhere if a city of almost 20,000 cannot give even an ounce of information on its new stadium.
I beg you to check a Web site of any Minnesota town of equal population. You will find that they all take pride in showing a picture of the park and information about its role in the tradition of Minnesota town team baseball.
I have chosen to write your newspaper on this matter because a half dozen pleas to the city Web site have gone unnoticed.
