Letter: Executive orders are common
Tim Chermak (Public Forum, June 21) would make the readers believe that President Obama has used an unconstitutional tactic by calling for the president's impeachment for his use of an executive order and reminds the president that he is not a king.
I would like to remind the writer that the usage of the executive order by presidents is common and the practice has been used since 1789.
Obama has issued 124 executive orders since assuming office. President George W. Bush issued 291 executive orders during his eight years in office.
Did Mr. Chermak call for President Bush's impeachment for exceeding the limits of presidential authority?
