Letter: Flouting the parking law
Handicap parking is just that -- parking areas reserved for those with a valid handicap parking permit.
I constantly see cars parked in these spots with either no parking permit or with an expired permit. I have seen cars parked with permits that expired in the 1990s.
Maybe our police should ticket these vehicles as it would greatly increase the revenue for the city. It would also free up parking spaces for those who have a valid permit.
I have seen people who park in these spots, while a person goes into the store, while the driver or the passenger stays in the car. Their thought must be that they aren't actually "parking" but simply waiting in the handicap spot. They are breaking the law!
Enough is enough. Handicap spots are reserved spaces only for those with a valid permit.
