Letter: Give EDC rep some credit

I can’t let it lie any longer.

Steve Gardner, in your letter to the editor on Feb. 26, you showed that you, along with many others, have totally misinterpreted the point that EDC Operations Board member Bob Enos is trying to make.

He is definitely not against the role of agriculture in our area. He is simply saying why are we concentrating totally on chasing after something that already exists, to the exclusion of ignoring the definition of economic development.

Economic development should also mean putting $700,000 to use for expanding opportunities in our area for science, technology, manufacturing, finance, etc.

Please give Enos the credit he is due for trying to expand our horizons.
