Letter: A great help in emergencies

I just saw the news article Oct. 3 about the grant for a new utility task vehicle. What a wonderful addition for Willmar area emergency services.

When I had my near-fatal heart attack in 2006, a rural Wisconsin volunteer fire department used a similar vehicle to save my life and transport me out of a state forest ski area much like Sibley State Park.

The EMT personnel drove their ATV in to where I was down, resuscitated me and then transported me back out to the waiting ambulance. There is no doubt in my mind that the outcome would have been quite different without their utility task vehicle.

The people of the Willmar area owe Willmar Area Faith At Work a big thank you.
