Letter: Let mayor make the decision

The Sept. 4 letter to the editor from John L. Sullivan of Spearfish, S.D., has to be responded to.

His feelings about the mayor are a perfect example of how feelings can be influenced by slanted information. In this case, by reports from a newspaper that has taken quotes by the mayor and others out of their true context, simply to influence the attitudes of readers.

Isn’t it possible that once the mayor took office and got educated in details about the city of Willmar, that he would obviously need to refocus his efforts according to the circumstances?

Once venturing out of comfortable life as a private citizen to begin life as a public servant, Mr. Yanish should make his own decisions about resigning, and for his own reasons. Not because of the influence of a person named John Sullivan.
