Letter: The perils of medications

Email

Do you think the latest incident in Washington, D.C., (car chase) will now shed some media light on pharmaceutical companies and doctors that are way overprescribing antidepressants?

Now that the suspect didn’t have a gun for liberals to blame, is it too much to hope for that they look at the side effects of these things?

Think about the Navy shooter — hearing voices, controlled by sound waves — and read these side effects for Paxil/Zoloft/Prozac as listed on Drugs.com: feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior; feeling that others can hear your thoughts; feeling, seeing, or hearing things that are not there; holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact; thoughts of killing oneself and paranoia.

I’m wondering if every single shooter was either on one of these or had just stopped taking one of these. But they have never released any toxicology reports on any of the shooters. But the public had to know what Michael Jackson/Whitney Houston/that guy from Glee/Heath Ledger were on when they died.

But now with the D.C. mom not having a gun, wonder what they will blame? Republicans, the government shutdown, Infiniti?
