Letter: Taking a chance on pollution
The Minnesota Pollution Control people are directing that a Blomkest-Svea wastewater pond be built about one-eighth of a mile from my well. The recommended distance from a well is one-fourth of a mile.
They say a clay soil is all that is needed. The engineer said the soil tested for seepage of 50 gallons a day. At 12½ acres that is 625 gallons.
I am asking for a plastic lining.
I don't understand the MPCA is taking such a chance.
