Letter: Think before you vote

I encourage every eligible person to vote on Nov. 6, but not to base your vote on TV or radio ads. On Oct. 25, Minnesota Public Radio News estimated that politicians and interest groups on all sides have spent over $10 million on political ads -- just in Minnesota.

What that means is that they are paying advertising agencies to create appeals to our emotions that will make us vote a certain way on one day. Advertising works; that's why these agencies are in business, but ads never tell the whole story. It isn't that hard to find out what candidates stand for; please do research and think before voting.
