Letter: Train safety vs. status quo
This letter is in reference to Trott Avenue’s latest quiet zone article in the Nov. 19 paper.
The Department of Transportation in our state and the federal DOT or a state trooper can write tickets for various laws or things.
However, all train horns blast the north section of town as well, like a song (the poor side of town, down in the boondocks) — get my drift?
However, a fast-moving train in Brooten killed my brother-in-law, Lee Wallace, whom I miss very much.
In my opinion, in contrast, Councilman Ron Christianson uses the safety word for doing nothing but following the status quo (the farce train corporation.)
Trains don’t speed in Willmar.
Everyone would fall over dead seeing a state trooper ticketing a train in town for horn blasting.
