Letter: Wolf hunt is unnecessary
The Legislature is meeting again in St. Paul, and who knows what bills they will pass this year.
For the past several years they could have stopped the unnecessary wolf hunt in Minnesota, and I hope this is the year they finally realize the public opinion — as well as lack of scientific knowledge — means we should not have a wolf hunt.
There is no scientific evidence that hunting wolves decreases wolf predations on livestock, and the wolf hunt, created by the Minnesota DNR, is admittedly not for population control. It is purely recreational.I urge all people — particularly those voting in St. Paul on our behalf at the Legislature — to join me in advocating against this unnecessary wolf hunt.Darla FischerPrinsburg
