The job is currently held by Rep. Bruce Vogel, R-Willmar.

Liebl, a 2010 political science graduate of St. John's University, is a 2nd Lieutenant with the Minnesota Army National Guard and is currently in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. undergoing officer training.

He said he believes that politics in Minnesota has "failed its citizens" and "failed the political process of talking and negotiating for what is right for the people." Liebl said the current political system in Minnesota is "entirely run by the political caucuses."

Liebl said he is running as a third party candidate because Republicans and Democrats "have a primary focus of political gain, not what is best for all citizens."

According to his biography, Liebl, 23, moved to the area in 1995, is a home school high school graduate and obtained an AA degree from Ridgewater before going to St. John's University. He joined the National Guard when he was 17.
