Lillian B. Reck, 95, of Willmar, died Thursday, March 6th at Swift County Benson Hospital in Benson. Her funeral will be 10:00 am, Thursday, March 13th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. www.hafh.org
Lillian was born on November 13, 1918, near Blomkest, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Toupal) Sluka. She grew up south of Willmar, attended country school in District #82.
On February 9, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ervin Reck in Willmar. They lived in St. Paul and Lillian worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a secretary, retiring in 1982. Following their retirements, Lillian and Ervin built a house on her parents lot in Willmar where she has resided since 1982. Ervin preceded her in death on January 29, 2008. Lillian was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Lillian enjoyed visiting with others, and was always very hospitable when you visited her home. Following their retirements, Lillian and Ervin traveled to many parts of the United States but especially enjoyed their trips to Texas, New York and Colorado. You could frequently find them fishing and enjoying the outdoors as well as tending to their yard and garden.
Surviving are her sister, Dorothy Drummond of Cleveland, TX; nephew, Duane (and Alice) Vinar of Watkins and their families and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband and parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her sisters, Geneva Sluka, Elizabeth Vinar and Frances Anderson.
